Now this is a manifesto for an Iranian who is really worn out of being one:

No, I am not a terrorist nor a wife beater, I don't live in a tent in a desert. And I don't know Ali or Amir from Orange County, Although I'm certain they drive a BMW .

I speak Farsi, not Arabic. Iran is pronounced "EERAUN" and not "I - ran" (it's not track & field). News flash: Iran and Iraq are two different countries (a note to the Americans), Middle east is a region and NOT a continent, and camels are not our way of transportation.

Belly dancers are NOT strippers (no sex in the Champaign room). Iranian women are just as outspoken (if not more) and liberal as the European women. And what the hell is "soccer"?? We also call it Football.

Iran is the first country to have red white and green for a flag. A beautiful country ran by the wrong people but still the best part of Middle East.

I don't know why but always when one is "too" nationalistic, it sounds so sloppy and ridiculous.

It doesn't matter what "WE" think we are. The important thing is what the rest of the world sees us as. And we are responsible for all of 'em.

We should have thought twice before leaping over the embassy's wall and before pulling trigger for the bomb, in the US Marines' barracks in Beirut and before instructing those dummies in hezbollah to kill the American in hijacked TWA plane or ... Instead of those stupid actions, "WE" had to project a better view of ourself.

It's not those, so called "American's", responsibility to know us as we are. It's our responsibility to find better ways to present ourselves. What do you expect from them when the only news which make their ways to this part of the world is our being in pursuit of WMD or feeding al-sadr to mess up Iraq and delaying democracy in there or of harbouring fled taliban. What do you expect? What do you expect from them when the only images from Iran on the TV is the furious dirty people with saw-like teeth and mouthes full of "down with" and BS?
